Britt- A cheerful Belgian and the love of all of our lives. Britt is Dayle's wife and she has more energy than anyone else I have ever met. She was a great help to me when I arrived in Venezuela and was constantly planning trips and organizing events (mostly braais).
Daniel- This is Michelle's boyfriend and an all-around good guy. Daniel has always been willing to help me out when I was unsure how to handle a situation in Venezuela. He is very giving and kind hearted. Dayle- The flesh burning South African of the group. Dayle is a marathon runner and when he isn't running he can usually be found in his backyard preparing a large slab of meat for a delicious braai. Jennifer- A financial analyst whom I met in Merida. Jennifer is a very intelligent and kind person. I enjoy her company because she is always ready for adventure and she doesn't even work in the oil industry. How novel! Jo- A pale-faced Belgian who also is a coworker. Jo is a financial analyst by trade and by his own admission is not very fond of the outdoors. Somehow he got mixed up with this group of nature lovers though. Michelle- A Texan coworker who has lived in Venezuela for three years. Michelle is the first American I met in Venezuela who didn't bug the hell out of me and you can always count on having fun when she is around. Rob- This was my best friend in Venezuela when he was here. Rob is a travelling South African/Canadian/Irish kid who lived with me for about eight months while he was teaching English in Caracas. Rob's enthusiasm was directly responsible for many of the adventures I have chronicled on these pages. Tom- This tall Belgian is (was) a coworker and one of my best friends. He has a brilliant mind and appreciates art and theater as much as beaches and mountains. I really value his friendship because I feel that he has brought a lot of culture into my life and taught me a lot about myself. Tom's website chronicles his current and past travels. |
