It is hard to believe that it took me almost a year in Venezuela before I visited Choroni. Choroni and Puerto Colombia are located north of the town of Maracay in Henri Pittier National Park. Although I refer to be the beach as Choroni, I actually stayed in the nearby town of Puerto Colombia during each of my visits. Puerto Colombia is unique in that it offers many luxurious posadas and restaurants at resonable prices. As a result the town is quite crowded on the weekends. If you are planning to go to Choroni I suggest that you call one of the posadas to make reservations in advance.
